The UK government is trying to lower their voting age to 16 in all national elections.
The Deputy Prime Minister said the changes will not only break down the barriers to participation but also increase engagement in democracy.
According to research, lowering the voting age has no significant effect on election outcome, but it’s proven that 16-year-olds tend to vote at higher rates.
